ELECT STEVE AS MAYOR OF HARRISBURG

Dear Harrisburg Residents,

I am Steve Sciascia, and I have the honor of seeking your support once again in my bid to serve as your Mayor.

During my previous term from 2013 to 2021, we focused on fostering growth, enhancing public safety, and implementing responsible fiscal policies. We created a 10 year tax rate plan which should have left the tax rate flat for 10 years.  When I left office, Harrisburg’s tax rate was just 35 cents—proof that we could fund essential services while keeping our town affordable and accessible for all.

In contrast, under Mayor Teague, the tax rate has risen to 41 cents, placing an additional burden on hard-working families. I personally watched my monthly mortgage payment increase by over $300 per month.  The foregoing is not surprising as our tax revenue doubled between 2020 and 2025 by $10,503,000 (that is correct, $10.5 MILLION DOLLARS !!!)

Now, residents have a unique opportunity to compare our records and see the real impact on our daily lives. My approach balanced fiscal responsibility with community investments, ensuring Harrisburg thrives while keeping your costs down. We need to prioritize common sense and fiscal responsibility over the current political climate that often leaves us divided and uninformed.

Together, we can restore transparency, accountability, and dedication to the people of Harrisburg. Let’s reclaim our town’s potential and work toward a brighter future for everyone.

Join me on this journey, and let’s make Harrisburg a place we are all proud to call home once again.

Thank you for your consideration.

PRIORITIES
1. Reduce Wasteful Spending:
I pledge to conduct thorough audits of our Town’s finances to identify and eliminate unnecessary expenditures. Every dollar counts, and we must ensure that our resources are used wisely. Defining wants versus needs prior to the budget season and limiting the amount spent on wants

2. Relieve Taxpayers:
By cutting waste, we can lower taxes and ease the financial burden on families and local businesses. It’s time to put money back in the pockets of our residents and start respecting the taxpayers who fund all projects, and all town employees.
5. Economic development:
It is important for our town because it strengthens our local economy and improves the overall quality of life for our residents. When a town invests in attracting businesses, supporting entrepreneurs, and encouraging growth, it generates more tax revenue that can be reinvested into infrastructure, parks, and public services. A strong local economy makes a town more attractive to new families and businesses, ensuring long-term sustainability and resilience in the face of economic challenges
3. Restore Control:
I will advocate transparency and accountability, ensuring that your voices are heard, and your concerns are addressed, and you help decide on large expenditures.

4. Focus on “needs” to ensure they are met or exceeded:
· Police, fire, and emergency services
· Roads, water, sewage, and waste management
· Schools
· Funding for essential town staff
